About our company:

Avenu Properties Corporation is a real estate development, investment and management firm based in North York, Ontario. The firm actively owns and operates real estate assets from greenfield developments to stable income-producing properties. Present holdings include ongoing residential development, land parcels for primary and secondary homes, office/retail, and other commercial real estate across the GTA.

Responsibilities:  
 
  • Prepare, create, and maintain financial pro-forma models, budgets, and forecasts for current projects.  
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify any risks/challenges advising senior management.  
  • Management portfolio reporting: collect and process reports and data of all the projects under team's management, provide monthly summarized data of the whole portfolio.  
  • Support the existing residential development projects and the parkway place property.  
  • Develop and maintain financial models, ensuring all data captured is an accurate reflection of all agreements, sales contracts, financial agreements in accordance with industry standards.  
  • Support Investment and asset teams with quarterly and yearly project/portfolio reporting.  
  • Collaborate closely with senior management to facilitate the successful execution of financing transactions as an active member of the deal team.  
  • Interact daily with associates and partners to create deliverables for clients and capital sources.  
  • Thoroughly review, organize, and condense term sheets, loan documentation, third-party reports  
  • Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities, proposing risk mitigation strategies. 
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and industry benchmarks to ensure the organization remains competitive. 
  • Continuously review and enhance financial processes and reporting systems for increased efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Implement best practices to streamline financial operations. 
  • Ad hoc reporting and operating activities as required.  
 
Requirements: 
 
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or Real Estate.  
  • CFA, AACI, MBA designation are assets.  
  • Demonstrated experience in real estate finance and a willingness to contribute.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with great attention to detail.  
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter, with the ability to work well in a team environment.  
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).  
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced environment.  
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.  
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain a flexible schedule.  
  • Experience in commercial real estate development is required.  
  • Experience with underwriting, modeling, and financial analysis is required.
